John-e-Box
John-e-Bench
3D Visualization
At the IRI we have 3D visualization equipment for immersive interactive 3D and pre-rendered stereo movies. The John-e-Box was developed by John N. Huffman and the Advanced Visualization Lab.
The John-e-Box has been used for viewing molecules and MRI data in real 3D in realtime. Another popular use of the John-e-Box is in outreach activities showcasing the 3D movies of the Informatics New Media group.
A 'cousin' and precursor of the John-e-Box is the John-e-Bench, a non-portable desktop based version with 3D visualization on one side and a regular desktop on the other.
